This DVD features a solo choreographed and performed by Shashikala Ravi in Ragamalika and Talamalika. Its theme is the cosmic dance of Lord Shiva. The songs and language in this recital based on Shiva Thandavangal written by the Gnanacheri Swami Shri Sadashiva Bramendrar.

Smt Shashikala Ravi is the founder director of Amritanjali School of Bharatanatyam in Pune, India. A performing artiste, a teacher and a choreographer, Shashikala Ravi is the senior student of Swarna Saraswathy of Bharatanatya Academy (Delhi), and of Kalanidhi Narayan. She is pursuing her PhD in Bharatanatyam, and is also trained in Carnatic vocal music. Shashikala Ravi has been awarded Natya Ratna and Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, and is empanelled with the ICCR.
