Annamayya by Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala and group .
The 14th & 15th centuries saw the rise of bhakti movement that saw the rise of great saint-poets. Thalapaka Annamayya (1408-1503) was the earliest composer of Telugu kirthanas. He has over 32,000 compositions to his credit of which 14,000 are available, engraved on copper plates.
The Ballet Annamayya in this DVD comprises three episodes thatcaptured the lyrical beauty of the compositions of this great poet and are also a visualization of his life.
Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala's Her artistic talents have been enriched over three decades of experience as dancer, choreographer, teacher. She is a disciple of Krishnakumari Narendran and Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan.
